Each year, Texas Craft Brewers Festival VIP attendees go home with a souvenir gift. For the largest festival in the state focused on exclusively Texas-brewed independent craft beer, no gift could beat BEER itself. That’s why for a fifth year we’re excited to send VIP ticket holders home with a special commemorative collaboration beer brewed by the folks at Blue Owl Brewing and Hold Out Brewing–two breweries whose teams play an integral behind-the-scenes role in helping us put on Texas Craft Brewers Festival each and every year.
This year’s beer is a pilsner hopped in the west coast style, layering tropical fruit, citrus, and melon over a well-rounded malt bill featuring fonio, a grain grown in the acacia savannas of Africa. It’s packaged in 16-ounce cans featuring artwork by designer and illustrator Jessica Deahl. Surf’s up!
VIP Ticket-Holders: make sure to pick up your four-pack of Savanna Swells at the festival merch booth right by the main exit gate upon your departure from the fest! (Unfortunately Texas law prohibits us from shipping it to you if you forget, so make sure to stop by!)
All Festival Attendees: You’ll be able to sample Savanna Swells (along with many other fun collaboration beers) by stopping by the PARTNERS in CRAFT Collaboration Tap Wall near the main entrance.

Savanna Swells
West Coast Pilsner | 5.5% ABV
Surf’s up! Brewed in the live oak savannas of central Texas, this crushable pilsner delivers boatloads of balanced flavor. The pilsner malt bill features a specialty adjunct – a grain called fonio that’s harvested on the acacia savannas of Africa – and a special hop blend evoking the berries, citrus, and tropical melon flavors and aromas of the west coast. it’s inspired by warm fall days in Texas and chill vibes out where the sun sets. Quench your thirst with friends and family over holiday meals or enjoy on its own.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jessica Deahl
Jessica’s work is recognizable from beer brands to other packaged consumer goods. She’s helped develop brands big and small, from California to Texas to Illinois. Her love of drawing has given her the opportunity to create silk screen posters and illustrations for some of her favorite bands and properties, and her love of beer has recently added another bullet point to her resume — published author.
